Carved Japanese Ivory Okimono Bird and Mushroom

This carving features a large bird hunting insects perched on the top of a large round mushroom. The detail of the carving picks up the bird's feathers and the intricacies of the mushroom's texture. The underside of the flower contains the stem and a small conical shell.
