The cylindrical frieze is intricately carved with a crisscrossed laurel garland motif over a stippled background. It is supported by three scrolled, out-swept legs deeply carved with acanthus leaves and hanging flora, which are linked by carved laurel swag ropes mimicking traditional classical drapery.
