This piece consists of two individual items. The first is a Lancini art nouveau silver photo frame, from Italy. The frame stands in a tripod position with the front occupied by a crest shaped frame protected by a glass sheet and surrounded by carved flowers as if growing up a trellis. Protruding out of the back of the frame is the third leg that holds the frame together. The rear of the frame reveals the manufacturer's name, Lancini, referring back to the artist Edoarda Lancini. Inside the frame itself is an Islamic piece of art manufactured out of silver and decorated with gold. The artwork is in a disk shape of concentric circles with بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم written in calligraphy at its centre and that surrounded by brown etched calligraphy. The circle after that features more calligraphy in the Kufic script etched in orange. The calligraphic centre is surrounded an orange and purple geometric floral pattern laced with gold. The disc sits on a piece of silver that is stamped at the bottom right corner. The artwork has a weight of 16-20 grams and a purity marking of 925.
